  • About

In France, lait de poule (“hen’s milk,” if literally translated) is said to be very good for you if you have a bad cold or the flu.

Ingredients

  • 4 egg yolks
  • 4 tablespoons (50 g) granulated sugar

Method

At least one hour ahead of time, take the eggs and the milk out of the refrigerator.

Place the egg yolks and sugar in a mixing bowl and whisk lightly to combine. Bring the milk to a boil in a saucepan, then remove from the heat and wait for 5 minutes before adding it to the egg yolks. Whisk in the hot milk little by little, then pour into the mugs or bowls and serve immediately.
