Asparagus just wouldn’t be the same without this thick, rich, buttery, and delicious sauce. If, at any time, the sauce should separate on you, put a teaspoonful of boiling water in a clean bowl and very slowly whisk the separated sauce into that - it should come together again magically in front of your eyes.
