  • About

YOU CAN GET MUSSELS ALL YEAR ROUND, although, like oysters, when the water is warm they get broody and will not be at their best for eating, and you may be disappointed. Autumn and throughout the winter is the time to buy them, and usually these days they will be ready cleaned of barnacles. A little cream can be added to a classic moules marinières, but the choice is yours.
