This chocolate cream, a recipe my grandmother passed down to my mother, is the dessert I most remember from childhood, and one that graced the table after almost every special meal.
In a large bowl, sift the cornstarch into 2 tbsp of the milk. Whisk until it is all dissolved, then whisk in the eggs and set aside.
In a medium pot over medium heat, add the remaining milk and the sugar. Just before it begins to boil, take the pot off the heat and whisk in the chocolate and salt. Keep whisking until all the chocolate has melted.
Very slowly pour half of the hot
