Classic Boiled Icing

This icing is the great-grandmother of Seven-Minute Frosting. It predates the mixer, stoves powered by gas or electricity, the candy thermometer, and the refrigerator. Boiled icing traditionally provided the crowning finish for such family heirloom recipes as Lane Cake, Lady Baltimore Cake, and Classic Coconut Cake. Having a
