Not even the most devoted Catalan gourmands know about Fonda Xesc, a gem of a haute rustic restaurant hidden away on a small winding road too obscure for most people to find. What a shame. My recent meal there included a sublime coca with fresh figs and foie gras, a squid and artichoke rice for the ages, and these delicious caramelized fig tarts.
