  • About

The North African spice blend za’atar is also used in Jordan, Israel, Greece and Turkey. It is usually sprinkled onto food as a seasoning or garnish, and in Israel it is often served with bread and olive oil for breakfast. Za’atar is sold already blended in Middle Eastern food-stores. Traditionally, the herbs hyssop or wild thyme are ground with the spices.
