You can make these fluffy, comforting steamed buns to accompany the savory part of the meal or serve them sweet for dessert. My father loved them sweet. I remember I made these for him at his request a year before he died of cancer, when I was fifteen. So I like to serve them his way, with poached plums, using the poaching liquid to finish the steaming.
