This is a cake that every farmer would always have on hand for visitors who might stop by. Easy to make, it holds up to a week if stored well, in an airtight container (not wrapped in plastic). It’s essentially flavored solely by eggs, butter, vanilla, and sometimes a splash of schnapps. It’s like a lighter pound cake with a nice crust.
