Grade B maple syrup is thicker, less refined, and stronger in flavor than the traditional grade A syrup that is usually reserved for pancakes (I like grade B better on pancakes, too). This is a rich, full-bodied, sticky nut pie. Although it is a delicious stand-in for the more popular pecan pie, it really deserves a place of honor at the table all by itself.
