These tuna steaks are infused with Oriental flavours and are seared quickly to great effect. The chickpea salad is very versatile, and is also lovely with grilled vegetables or chicken.
Soak the chickpeas overnight in plenty of cold water.
Combine the marinade ingredients and mix well. Place the tuna steaks in a shallow glass or ceramic dish and pour on a third of the marinade, turning to coat both sides. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 3–4 hours, turning the tuna occasionally.
