This incomparable recipe was delivered to my office in my BBC Good Food days by a colleague who worked at Radio Times upstairs - David Oppedisano. Like David, its origins are Boston, Massachusetts. The romantic name is explained by the cooking method - the cookies are left in the switched-off oven overnight.
