The peach – first cultivated in China, arrived in Morocco via ancient Persia – as did melons and pomegranates. This dessert is delicious served with cream or ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 4 large ripe peaches
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2–4 teaspoons

Method

  1. Peel peaches and slice into a large shallow mixing bowl. Sprinkle with sugar and rosewater and mix well.
  2. Place bowl in refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  3. Just before serving, sprinkle with ground cinnamon and leaves of fresh mint. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
