Loch Fyne Oysters Ltd was founded in 1978. The late Johnny Noble, who owned Ardkinglas Estate, and Andrew Lane, a marine biologist, had a simple plan to restore oyster beds at the head of Loch Fyne and sell fresh oysters to the public from a shed in a lay-by.
