  • About

Mitmita is an intensely hot spice blend that’s traditionally used to accompany Ethiopian meat dishes as a seasoning and condiment. Typically, it’s made from ground bird’s eye chiles, which are hotter than cayenne, but for my tastes, cayenne is plenty hot.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons cayenne
  • ½ teaspoon ground cardamom
  • ½ teaspoon<

Method

Combine all the ingredients in a small jar with a tight lid and shake to combine. Store in a cool, dark place for up to 4 weeks.
