Here’s a mild-mannered lentil filling for stuffing into Ye’difin Misser Sambusas. You’ll probably be tempted to snack on this, but force yourself not to because it makes just enough for eight sambusas.
Put the water and lentils in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat. Stir to prevent the lentils from sticking to the bottom of the pan. Decrease the heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the lentils are tender but not mushy, about 15 minutes. Drain and discard the cooking liquid.
