Mixing blood oranges with deep, tangy crème de cassis and fresh mint is an inspired way to add fruit to your Thanksgiving menu. Serve this as an alternative to traditional cranberry sauce.


  • Large blood oranges or navel oranges, 12
  • Crème de cassis, ¼ cup
  • Fresh lemon juice,


Working with 1 orange at a time, cut a slice off the top and bottom to reveal the flesh. Stand the fruit upright. Using a sharp knife, thickly slice away the peel and pith, cutting downward and following the natural contour of the fruit.
