The pigs’ heads can also be made into whimsical dinner rolls. Alternatively, use the white bread dough to make bread loaves shaped like whole pigs following the instructions for Whole Large Pig Pastries. The loaves are shown in Color Photo 113 along with the rolls.

  1. Roll out the dough to make a rectangle measuring 23 × 16 inches (57.5 × 40 cm) and about ¼ inch (6 mm) thick. Cut out 18 circles, 4 inches (10 cm) in diameter, and 18 circles, 1½ inches (3.7 cm) in diameter. Use a No. 2 (4-mm) plain tip to cut the holes in the smaller circles to make snouts. Press the dough scraps together (do not knead them) and refrigerate.
