  • About

The apple banana (platano manzano in Spanish) is one of the tastiest exotic fruits ever to cross the North American table. Short and stubby, it has a tart, “apple-y” banana flavor that makes you want to throw stones at regular bananas. Look for it in Hispanic markets and in some large supermarkets. This is the salsa to serve with grilled duck or chicken; the smoke flavor comes from the chipotle chiles.
