Marcus Loofft’s Nieder-Sächsisches Koch Buch (Lower Saxony Cook Book) was sold by German bookshops in this country during the eighteenth century. Today it is a rich source of recipes for the food historian. Oblatgebackenes (things wafer baked) is Loofft’s quaint North German way of writing Oblaten.
