  • cups (1 pound) confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 egg whites

Method

Sift the sugar to remove the lumps. Beat the egg whites until frothy, then gradually combine with the sugar. Beat until it stands in peaks, then add the lemon juice and coloring. Apply to the cookies with a stiff brush or small knife.
