This is what many early Americans meant when they said plum pudding. It is served hot or cold in soup bowls with cream and sugar, sweetened stewed fruit, or whole preserved strawberries. I highly recommend the latter.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup fine cracker crumbs
  • 7 cups milk
  • 8 eggs</

Method

Mix the cracker crumbs and 1 cup of milk. Let this stand for 2 to 3 hours.

Preheat the oven to 300°F.

Add the remaining milk to the crumbs and beat vigorously to make a thin ba
