  • 1 cup finely shredded suet
  • 1 cup brown sugar

Method

Bring water to a boil in a large vegetable steamer. Mix the suet, sugar, raisins, currants, and citron. Sift the flour, salt, and baking powder together twice, then combine with the other ingedients. Make a valley in the center, add the hot coffee and work this up into a stiff batter.
