This confection is particularly well adapted for molding into cherries and hearts for the Christmas tree.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beets
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 tablespoons

Method

Wash the beets thoroughly, then place them in a pan with sufficient water to cover. Bring to a boil and cook until the beets are tender (cooking time will depend on the size of the beets). Reserve the cooking liquid for soup. Rinse the beets under cold water and remove the skins.
