All parts of the banana plant are used in different ways: the leaves as an aromatic food wrapper and as a ‘plate’ for indian meals; and the fruit, flower, and tender inner rings of the stem are eaten. Wear plastic gloves to stop the sap staining your hands.
Peel off one leaf at a time from the banana flower. Remove the yellow, stick-like immature bananas and discard both them and the leaves until you reach the white inner core. Chop off the top end and discard it. Chop what is left into quarters and soak it in a bowl of water with
