Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pickled herring fillets
  • ¼ cup aquavit, chilled
  • ¼ t

Method

  1. Cut the herring fillets into 1 inch squares.
  2. In a shallow bowl, toss the herring, aquavit, sugar, and pepper. Cover, and refrigerate 3 hours.
  3. Cut the bread into small squares. Butter each with a very thin layer of Caraway Dill Butter.
  4. Cut the apple
