Wave after wave of the season’s crop—vine-ripened tomatoes, snappy green beans, aromatic basil—combined with Italy’s best—black olives, slivered Parmesan, and fettuccine. It will cause a tidal wave of compliments.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 ounces</

Method

  1. Arrange the basil leaves in small stacks and roll them up lengthwise. Slice the stacks diagonally into slivers. Reserve ½ cup for the vinaigrette.
