Fruit vinegar punches up the taste of any fresh fruit salad or dessert. It makes a welcome house gift, so try to find the prettiest bottles.

Ingredients

  • 1 quart cider or white wine vinegar
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries or blueberries (not in syrup; thawed if frozen)

Method

  1. Combine the vinegar and 1 cup of the berries in a medium-size saucepan. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat, and simmer, uncovered, for 2 minutes. Stir in the honey and remove from the heat. Pour the berry mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a large measuring cup. Don’t p
