When you’re eating alone and want to be really good to yourself, make up this New Basics staple. Of course, if company’s coming, just multiply out the ingredient amounts, and be good to all your friends too.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces ground beef chuck or round
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon

Method

  1. Preheat the broiler.
  2. Combine the beef, egg yolk, spinach, onion, and salt and pepper in a bowl, and mix well.
  3. Form three quarters of the meat mixture into a patty, reserving the remainder. Make an indentation in the center of the patty, and fill it with the cheese. Cover the cheese with the reserved meat, and form a finished patty.
