Italians love amaretto, and so do we-that’s why we put it in both the soufflé and the sauce!

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons unbleached all-purpose flour

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Place an oven rack in the lower third of the oven. Butter an 8-cup soufflé dish and sprinkle it with sugar. Turn the dish to coat it evenly, and shake out any excess; set the dish aside.
