Steffi Berne’s Hazelnut Lace Cookies

    Every year at Christmastime Steffi bakes the most wonderful cookies for a holiday Champagne and dessert party. As she packs them away in cookie jars, the big question is: How many will be left for the night of the party? They are irresistible!

    Ingredients

    • cup light corn syrup
    • 4 tablespoons (½ stick) unsalted butter

    Method

    1. Adjust the oven racks to divide the oven into thirds. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line baking sheets with parchment.
    2. Combine the syrup, butter, and brown sugar in a heavy saucepan and heat over medium-low heat, stirring, until the butter has melted.
