When fresh berries are in season, this is the preserve to make—the flavors just burst forth. No pectin is necessary as the cranberries and blueberries have lots of their own. Serve this often!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup blackberries, lightly rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup halved hulled strawberries
  • ½

Method

  1. Stir all the ingredients together in a 4-quart microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Cook, uncovered, at full power (650 to 700 watts) for 10 minutes. Stir well, return to the microwave, and cook another 5 minutes.
  3. Allow the preserves to cool slightly; then cover and refriger
