You can experiment with different flavourings for these potatoes with various herbs and spices.


  • 4 large potatoes
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons cumin or caraway seeds
  • Sea salt


Scrub the potatoes and cut in half. Lay face up in a baking tin and pour the oil and sprinkle the seeds and salt over them.

Bake in a hot oven (gas mark 7/425°F/220°C) until soft inside – about half an hour.
