A donburi is a Japanese porcelain food bowl, about 15 cm/6 inches in diameter, and with a lid. It is also the word for any one-dish meal that you eat from the bowl: rice cooked with vegetables and meat, egg or fish, and whatever sauce or garnish is needed to make it interesting.
Cook the rice while preparing the ingredients for the beef topping (for plain cooked rice).
