This vegetable side dish is not for garlic lovers only; we hope you’ll take our word that after an hour in the oven garlic is soft, sweet, and mellow. We feel certain that you’ll become a convert.

In smaller quantities the roasted cloves make a splendid garnish for plain roasted or grilled meats.

  • 4 tablespoons (½ stick) unsalted butter


  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
