Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons (½ stick) unsalted butter, cut into 6 chunks, plus extra for greasing the pan

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 5 × 9 × 3-inch loaf pan.
  2. Place the butter in a large mixing bowl, place the dates on top, and pour both sugars over. Pour the boiling water over the ingredients in the bowl. Let sit for 7 minutes. Stir well.
