On the hottest day of the hottest summer we can remember, we found ourselves expecting some Very Important People for dinner. When all was ready except a dessert, we had time for an elaborate finale or a run to the beach, but not both. Inspiration, in the form of a well-iced bottle of Sauternes in the back of the refrigerator, led to this creation—quick, easy, and elegant. (Our tan looked great at dinner, too!)
