Using Plymouth gin rather than vodka, this, for me, is a quintessential English summer drink.

Ingredients

1½ measures Plymouth gin
½ measure elderflower cordial
juice of half a lime or lemon

Method

Stir the ingredients over plenty of ice and strain into a cocktail glass.

For a long drink, gin with a splash of elderflower cordial and plenty of chilled sparkling mineral water makes a drink far superior to gin and tonic.
