Rosemary and thyme make this an intensely aromatic dish, with the parsley and basil rounding out the fragrance. Breadcrumbs soak up the flavors and cling to the pasta while providing a pleasing, crunchy texture. Use homemade breadcrumbs or the thicker panko-style crumbs.


  • 1 medium clove garlic
  • 6–7 sprigs flat-leaf Italian parsley

  1. Fill a pot for the pasta with about 6 quarts of water, place over high heat, and bring to a boil.
  2. Peel and finely chop the garlic. Chop enough parsley to measure 2 tablespoons, enough rosemary to measure ½
