Like many New Yorkers, I fell in love with focaccia sandwiches at Saltie, a small sandwich shop in Williamsburg, now closed. Saltie tucked ribbons of mortadella, piles of pickles, and smatterings of herbs into bubbly, golden brown squares of fresh focaccia.
