Cream butter to a froth. Add powdered sugar and egg yolks and beat hard. Add the flour and fold in carefully the stiffly beaten egg whites. Spread on buttered pan and cover with pitted sweet cherries. Bake 25 minutes at 350°. Sprinkle top with powdered sugar and serve warm or cold.
Three average eggs weigh 5 ounces. Three large eggs weigh 7 ounces.
