Apple Tea Cake

  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup butter
  • ½ cup sugar


Cut butter into flour with knife like shortening in pie crust. Add eggs and sugar and mix thoroughly. Roll out and line baking pan. Bake in moderate oven for 25 minutes.


  • 2 lbs. apples
  • Sugar—weight of peeled and cored apples

Cover apples with sugar, add no water, and simmer until they become transparent. Cool and cover the cake. Decorate with almond halves and candied fruits.
