This typical sweet bread is generally found around the beginning of November for All-Saints’ Day. One explanation of its name, is that it was fit only for a saint. Another version refers to the ingredients — the olive oil, walnuts and sultanas — as being the saints themselves. Serve after a meal with a glass of Vin Santo or port, or simply with morning coffee.
