  • About

For a gaudily delightful change of pace for breakfast, brunch, or a fast and fresh dessert, combine this colorful quartet. Even those who remain unmoved by the rather bland, seedy cactus pear will probably be pleased by this festive presentation.

Ingredients

  • 3 large cactus pears, peeled (see Preparation)
  • About 1 tablespoon lime juice

Method

  1. Cut 2 cactus pears in chunks; press through medium disk of food mill. Add lime juice, rum, and honey to taste. Chill this sauce.
  2. Halve banana lengthwise, then cut into thin diagonal slices. Quarter orange lengthwise, then cut across into very thin slices. Slice ends from kiwis, then remove skin with swivel peeler. Halve lengthwise; cut across into thin slices.
