Call these pirogi, calzone, empanadas, or simply little pies, depending on your background. Plump half-moons of whole-wheat dough packed with kale, smoked ham, rice, and cheese can be made large or small to suit. For a picnic, make the large size; to serve as an appetizer, or along with a soup course, make the smaller ones.
