For a very special first course or hors d’oeuvre, serve this fresh and fragrant combination. Or sauté the marinated shrimp in olive oil for a few minutes and serve it hot, as a main course. Or steam shrimp as indicated and serve plain, without sauce, which is also delicious. I am partial to the kick that the jalapeño adds, but the dish works without it, if you are not a chili-pepper fancier.
