The simple recipe that follows—more of a suggestion than a recipe—is merely a felicitous mélange of complementary hues and aromas that I have found appealing. I imagine that raspberries, apricots, juicy-soft plums, or sweet-ripe melons would suit the lychee perfume as well as the fruits recommended below. If you are a less fanatic fruit purist than I, you might enjoy a whisper of cherry or raspberry eau-de-vie sprinkled in at the last minute.
