Creamy, smooth, and full-flavored, this beautiful peachy-golden dessert tastes more like light ice cream or ice milk than sherbet.

Ingredients

  • cups water
  • About ½ cup sugar
  • 2 medium mangos

Method

  1. Combine water and ½ cup sugar and bring to a boil, stirring; simmer 5 minutes. Cool, then chill.
  2. Peel and cube mangos (see Preparation). Purée in processor. Strain through a sieve into a bowl.
