I must admit to being generally biased against cooking with flowers. Even when purchasing soap or lotion, I much prefer food scents to floral. However, after a bit of reluctant experimentation, it turned out that a small pinch of lavender really does go well with light fruity flavors. Rounded out by a fresh lemon icing, these cupcakes are proof that flowers truly do have their place in the culinary world.
