You may think that a concoction without any nondairy milk or cream would be a bit lacking in flavor or texture, but you will be surprised at how rich and luscious this simple sorbet is. Even more decadent than full-fledged chocolate ice cream, this is a frozen treat for true chocoholics only!


  • 2 Cups Warm Water, Divided
  • 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1


Combine ¼ cup of the water and all of the sugar in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Don’t stir for the first couple of minutes, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture comes to a boil. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until the sugar becomes a golden caramel color after about 5–10 min
